Every year, the Australian Regional Women Leaders Convention draws together hundreds of women from Australia's vast network of regional and rural communities for a truly inspiring and empowering experience. Gathering together from locations across the country, participants enjoy a powerfully unique developmental experience focused on the challenges, aspirations and achievements of regional and rural women.

Gala Dinner
The Gala Dinner and Networking Evening has become a key component of this National Convention, and offer's participants a great opportunity to socialise and have some fun whilst supporting a worthy cause. Often referred to as the highlight of the Convention experience, this suitably prestigious occasion combines thought-provoking keynote addresses with high quality dining and nationally acclaimed entertainment.
Supporting a Worthy Cause
Over the past three years, the Convention Gala Dinner has also become a powerful fundraising platform, donating over $20,000 to organisations such as the Queensland-based drought relief charity, Aussie Helpers, and the Tanzanian-based English Middle School, the School of St Jude.
The Australian Regional Women Leaders Convention 2012 will be run in support of the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF), Australia's leading community funded organisation raising money for research into the prevention, detection and treatment of breast cancer.
The Spirit of Community Leadership Award has been created by Women & Leadership Australia (WLA) to highlight and promote the amazing achievements of regional and rural women. The Award is part of a national initiative to develop the leadership capacity of regional and rural women, and in so doing empower them to continue to make powerful and lasting contributions to their communities.
The 2012 Spirit of Community Leadership Award will be presented to a regional Australian woman who has made a significant contribution to her region/community. The award will be presented at the Gala Dinner of the the Australian Regional Women Leaders Convention 2012.
